How to use the map

How to use the map – information about where and how to find what you need.

The route combines of three elements:

1. Places worth seeing (those that can be seen during on the way)

2. The route itself (the track of the route that we will cycle on)

3. All the characteristic places on the rout – where the road curves etc)

We add the cycling routes as it is shown below

We add on the places that are worth seeing (points).

In order to create your own route you need to start from putting on the map places that are worth seeing during the cycling that we are just about to add on.

On the main site you have to click on the “add on point”. In the left menu the points category list appears, that can then be added on by the user of this website.

These are: shops; accommodation; interesting places; catering business; cycle service; landscape; bicycle parking facilities; possible danger. You can choose one category.

On the following display there are two fields. On the right – a map on which you should mark the place you have chosen; on the left – you add the description of that place (name, description, picture etc).

Once the description of the place had been worked out – click on “sent for publication”, if you want to finish later – click on “safe the draft”.

Thus we want to be sure that the information provided on our website are solid – the information added by the users do not show straightaway on the map. They do appear only after the administrator had accepted them. That takes no more than 24hours.

· Add on the ride route

In order to add on the ride route you need to go back to the main site and there in the left upper corner you have to click on the field “add on the route”. After you have done that in the left menu listings of the routes’ categories appears which can be added on by the user, these are: Alternative Scenic, Paths, one-day trips, several-days trips. Only one category can be chosen.

Then, two fields appear on the following display. On the right – a map on which you should mark the route; on the left – the menu in which you need to add the title, description, pictures, other related points, etc.

a). Name – choose the possible shortest name of the route

- Click on the map the place you had chosen – once you had done that: a green point will appear.

- If you wish the point to be the start of your route – you need to click “add on point”.

- All succeeding points of the should be added on in exactly the same way – click on the map the place you and confirm by a click on “Add on point”

- If you want to make some changes and adjustments – click on that point on the map; once it becomes yellow – you can either drug it or erase it by a click on “Delete marked point”

CAUTION!! In the present version of the map it is not possible to add on the points within the rout.

c). Author – this is where you write name of the author an his/hers email address

d). The google map automatically generates Length – the length of the route.

If in your opinion the length provided by google map is different that it is in reality - it is possible here to modify that.

e). Bicycle – choose the type of the bicycle for which this rout is available. You can choose from: utility bikes, racing bikes, mountain bikes und touring bikes.

f). Linked up points – this is where you can link together your route with those places that are seeing. You can link together with your route those points which you have added on, with those added on by other users. In order to link up the points under “linked up points” click on the button “add on point”. After having done that you will see a list of categories – choose the one that you are interested in, and then from the list of points choose that one which is to b linked up with our route.

g). Pictures – this is where you can add on pictures to our gallery.

h). End of the route – once the route is finished - click on “sent for publication”; if you wish to finish it later – click on “Safe the draft”
